FAQS

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THERAPY SESSIONS?

The initial session is getting to know you and each other to see what we need to focus on in order to help you the best way possible.

Information from your past will be gathered, we will talk about where you are in your current situation and where you want to be in the future. You are never required to answer anything you do not feel comfortable talking about.

We move at a pace that is best for you.

Key Questions:

Have you been in therapy before?

What do you want to get from coming to therapy?

How will you know when you have achieved your goals?

What things have you tried that work and don't work?

Follow up sessions included an overview of the past week, exploring past situations, finding the root of each current problem, creating goals and a plan, etc.

I come from a life coaching perspective, which helps to give you concrete ways to overcome the struggles in your life.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION LAST?

Sessions can last up to 50 minutes.

The first session typically is the longest, and follow up sessions depend on your needs, lasting between 30 -50 minutes.

WHY DON'T YOU TAKE INSURANCE? CAN I GET REIMBURSED FROM MY INSURANCE COMPANY?

I do not take insurance, only because it limits the work I can do with clients, and limits your confidentiality, among other things.

It also, gives the therapist more time to spend on each individual client without getting burnt out. When a therapist has a smaller caseload you are able to receive the attention you deserve.

Able to provide more quality care that you deserve. Quality care means more time, energy and care is spent on helping you to work towards your goals.

I can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.  You would need to contact your insurance company to see if this is an option.
